Heart Break Station
会社の同僚が自宅マンションで死んだ
浴室の照明を付け替えようとして小型の脚立に乗ったところ
脚部の接地面が滑って、転倒
頭部をバスタブに強打したのだ
季節は初夏、ベランダの戸は開いており、浴室のドアも開いたままだった
無断欠勤が数日間続き、別の同僚が彼の自宅を訪ねて、死体を発見したのだが
開いた窓から入ってきたカラスによって、死体はついばまれていた
眼球はなく、頭蓋骨の陥没箇所から、脳もほとんど食われていたという
実はこれら詳細を知ったのは、後になってから死んだ同僚から熱烈なアプローチを受けて困っていた女子社員から悩み相談を受けた
実家の一戸建てに、ご家族と住む彼女、このところ家の周囲にカラスが多くて気味が悪いという
その辺にいるだけなら無視もしようが、二階の彼女の部屋の窓越しにじっとこちらを凝視したり窓をくちばしでつついたりするというのだ

「ああ、それはきっと死んだ××の、脳食ったカラスだよ」
事情を知る社員からその言葉を聞き、その時はじめて死んだ同僚の死の様子を知ったのである
「○○（女子社員）のことで頭がいっぱいだった××の脳味噌食ったんだから、カラスに××の気持ちが
乗り移ったんじゃねーのw」
趣味の悪い冗談だな、とは思ったが、女子社員はそれどころではすまず、気のふれたような悲鳴を上げその場で昏倒してしまった（気絶した人間というのははじめて見た）
以後彼女は会社を休みがちになり、自宅周辺を空気銃を持って徘徊する、あぶない人になってしまった

これは聞いた話だが、一羽だけ空気銃を命中させたカラスは路上に落ちたところを、彼女によって
原型をとどめぬまでにぐしゃぐしゃに踏みにじられたそうである

よほどのこと嫌われていたと見える
